Wesley Mission Western Sydney Brand & Social Media Strategy

Wesley Mission Western Sydney is a newly planted church in one of Sydney’s most diverse suburbs. The need for genuine community is real. The church had no brand strategy, no marketing direction, and limited resources to work with.

This is an ongoing project.

In 2026, we partnered with Wesley Mission to develop the brand and marketing strategy for Wesley Western Sydney, a new church plant created to feel like home for Parramatta’s diverse and rapidly growing community. The brief was deeply relational: “Grow a local church that genuinely serves the diverse Parramatta community… spread awareness… [and] foster trust and meaningful relationships.” This vision shaped every part of the strategy.

Understanding Parramatta

Parramatta is one of Australia’s most culturally rich and complex urban centres. With “69% of residents born overseas and 69% speaking a language other than English at home,” the neighbourhood carries both vibrancy and vulnerability. High-density living contributes to loneliness and disconnection. Nearby Dundas, described as “a Christian majority suburb (49%)”, offers a warm audience ready for a fresh expression of faith. The strategy needed to speak directly to real pressures such as housing stress, isolation, mental health, identity and belonging.

A Brand Built on Belonging

Global trends showed people were seeking authenticity over production. As the document notes, people come for “encounter with community and with God, not production.” The brand leaned into warmth, honesty and everyday humanity. Real faces. Real stories. Real moments. The strategic pillars were simple.

  • Signal belonging, not performance

  • Solve real problems digitally before they walk in the door

  • Lead with humility and accessibility

Social Content Focused on Real Life

Social media was intentionally lo fi and human. iPhone videos, candid clips, everyday conversations and unfiltered moments replaced polished campaigns. Content addressed real issues such as housing, AI, mental health and isolation because “one authentic reply can outperform a week of scheduled posts.” The goal was resonance, not perfection.
